Based on the Prevail specs and announced price, we can see that the Straight Talk Samsung Precedent will be an entry level device. We speculate the phone will run on the Sprint CDMA network, same as Boost.

Expect specs to be on the entry level side. 600-800 megahertz processor, average 1-2 mp digital camera, little if any built in internal memory and Android 2.2 Froyo operating system. It will be far from the best android on the market but it will one of the better phones offered by Straight Talk. Look and Feel
The lightweight Samsung Galaxy Prevail for Boost Mobile is very elegant and does not disappoint even for the price point. Featuring a medium sized 3.2 inch screen with a Display Resolution of 480 x 320 and a powerful Android Operating System. The phone’s back has a sort of rubbery matte finish that gives it a unique feel to the touch. Most new Androids tend to be plastic shiny and are prone to falling but the extra grip the rubber finish offers might make dropping the Prevail a little harder. Overall, the Galaxy Prevail from Boost Mobile, is a welcomed upgrade from any other Android Boost offers to date.

Technical
Here’s where we breakdown what the Samsung Galaxy Prevail brings to the table. Starting with the Android 2.2 OS. This is not the most current Operating system by Android but for the 800MHz processor and 384MB of RAM, it does just fine. One thing to note, it will not support Adobe Flash due to the hardware limitations. One thing we were disappointed with is the 2 MP camera. It is not your typical 3 MP but if you’re taking regular shoots without much fine detail, you should be fine. As long as you keep this phone clean memory wise, you should not see too much lag. If you start seeing some delays, be sure to remove unnecessary applications that you dont use anymore. Another great option is the free Telenav. This is a free option that can’t be beat. It is basically free GPS month to moth. Overall, this is not the most powerful Android on the market but for the amazing price Boost is offering it and considering the even more amazing unlimited plan, including shrink, you cannot go wrong. To summarize, we felt the Samsung Galaxy Prevail for Boost Mobile was a decent mid entry or starter Android option for anyone who is new to Android and wants to experience its awesomeness. The Prevail does has its limitations as noted above, the OS, camera, and Processor but that is minor to what it is capable of doing. This is a smart phone and it can be a great addition to anyone who is on the go. Organize your day with a calendar, stay in touch with Facebook or email, and if you want to explore the city, use the free GPS. What can we say, we really liked the Boost Mobile option and loved the unlimited plan that really complements the Galaxy Prevail beautifully!
